Child Custody and Visitation Defined: Any decisions regarding a child is determined based on the best interest of that child. Typically the parents will have shared parental responsibility where both parents equally share in decision making for the child, unless it is determined that one or both parents are detrimental to the welfare of the child.  Usually, the home of one parent is designated as the child’s primary residence, for school and doctor records. The other parent is generally granted reasonable and liberal visitation.
Families need a Parenting Plan:
A Parenting Plan is a written document stating exactly how & when the children will be shared & cared for by the parents.
